Division 9, Two day championship report 8/18/2007 and 8/19/2007
The ABA District 9 PA held our 2 day state finals this weekend on the tidal Delaware river. We had a small turn out with only 13 anglers coming out to fish. The weather was a big factor this weekend with winds 15 to 20 mph on Sat. and cloud cover and rain on Sunday. The water was fairly clear with a temp of 79°. We had dropping tide both days until the late afternoon. On day 1 we had 6 skunks and three 4 fish limits, and 3 single fish. First and second were separated by 5 hunderdths of a pound at 9.32 and 9.27 3rd place had 7.21 lbs. Day two was much the same with only 3 limits again (same guys). 1t place John Vanore 21.98lbs 8 fish including a 3.65 20" small mouth 2nd place Dave Seemans 8 fish 14.72 and the big fish @ 3.75lbs 3rd place Dennis Budzitowski 8 fish 12.21 lbs We had a great season and are looking forward to the northeast regional next month on Lake Ontario out of Henderson Harbor. We want to thank all our sponsors who helped out this season including Matt who donated some parasite weights and clips and also a few jigs and trailers, the guys loved them!
